The Collection

Fly fishing apparel for people who fish

Fly fishing tees drawn from the fish, not from clip art

Most fly fishing graphic tees reach for the same three things. A silhouette leaping out of water, a crossed-rod badge, a slogan about beer. These start somewhere else.

The Cutthroat Anatomy tee is laid out like a page from an old field guide, parts labeled. Madison River carries topo lines and river miles instead of a picture of a fish. Brook Trout is drawn from native water in the naturalist style the rest of the catalog uses. If a design could belong to any brand, it does not ship.

The shirts, and how they fit

Three blanks across the collection.

Bella+Canvas 3001 is lightweight 4.2 oz Airlume cotton, side-seamed, the closest to a modern retail fit. Cutthroat Anatomy, Cutthroat Legacy, Rocky Mountain, and the National Parks fishing tee print on it, sized XS through 5XL. Comfort Colors 1717 is heavyweight garment-dyed cotton with a relaxed cut that softens with every wash. Yellowstone River and Madison River use it, sized S through 4XL. Gildan 64000 Softstyle runs true to size and sits between the two. Brook Trout and Gone Fishin' print on it, sized S through 3XL.

Everything is unisex. Chest and length by size are on the Sizing Guide.

Which shirt to pick

Native trout. Cutthroat Trout Anatomy reads like a field guide plate. Cutthroat Legacy carries Glacier coldwater tradition. Brook Trout is drawn for the small native water most people learn on.

Rivers by the mile. Madison River Montana runs topo lines and coordinates for the water itself. Yellowstone River pairs vintage trout art with mountain water. Rocky Mountain is the Colorado version of the same idea.

Wider water. The National Parks Fishing Shirt carries a grid of park badges across the back with a sunrise fishing emblem on the front. Gone Fishin' is the one that is not trying to be serious.

More trout designs are in Trout Heritage, and the river maps continue in River Mileage.

What kind of fishing shirt are you after?

Fishing t shirts split into a few kinds, and it saves time to know which one you want before you scroll.

Species designs. The fish itself, drawn from field guide plates. Cutthroat Trout Anatomy is the clearest of them, laid out with the parts labelled. If you want a fish logo shirt that survives a second look from someone who actually fishes, this is the group to start in.

River and place designs. Madison River, Yellowstone River, Rocky Mountain. The water rather than the fish. These read as loyalty to one piece of water more than as fishing apparel, which is the point of them.

Funny fly fishing t shirts. One, and we will not pretend otherwise. Gone Fishin' is a bigfoot walking off with a rod. We would rather carry one that lands than six that do not.

Outdoor t shirts that are not about fishing. The broader outdoor and wildlife designs live in National Parks and Wildlife Heritage.

Cotton on the water, honestly

These are cotton graphic tees. They are not technical wading layers, and nothing here is sold as sun protection or quick-dry.

Cotton is right for the drive out, the truck bed at the takeout, camp, the fly shop, and warm summer evenings when you are wet-wading anyway. Cotton is wrong as a base layer in cold weather, because once it is soaked it stays soaked and pulls heat off you. On cold mornings it goes over a synthetic or wool base, not against your skin. That is covered in what to wear under waders and cold morning fishing layers.

Common questions about our fly fishing shirts

Are these technical fishing shirts?

No. They are cotton graphic tees. We make no UPF, moisture-wicking, or quick-dry claims because these shirts do not do those things. For a hot, exposed day on open water, a technical sun shirt is the right tool, and this is not one.

Is cotton actually okay for fly fishing?

Depends on the day. In summer heat, wet-wading a small stream, cotton is comfortable and dries out on you. In cold or wet conditions it holds water and pulls heat, so it belongs over a base layer rather than against your skin.

What sizes do the fly fishing shirts come in?

Sizing depends on the blank. Bella+Canvas 3001 runs XS to 5XL, Comfort Colors 1717 runs S to 4XL, and Gildan 64000 runs S to 3XL. All unisex. Measurements for each are on the Sizing Guide.

Do you make funny fly fishing t shirts?

One. Gone Fishin' is a bigfoot heading off with a rod, printed on Gildan Softstyle. The rest of the line is drawn straight, because a shirt that is only a joke stops being worn after the second time somebody repeats it back to you.

Are these fishing t shirts or outdoor t shirts?

Both, depending on the design. The trout and river shirts read as fishing apparel. The park and wildlife designs read as outdoor t shirts and get worn by people who have never held a fly rod. Same blanks, same fit, same print either way.

Do you sell saltwater or deep sea fishing shirts?

No. This is a freshwater trout brand. The designs are drawn from cold rivers, native trout and the national parks around them, so an offshore angler is going to find the whole line beside the point.

What is the difference between the two cutthroat shirts?

Cutthroat Trout Anatomy is a labeled field-guide layout of the fish itself. Cutthroat Legacy is a Glacier National Park design built around coldwater tradition rather than anatomy. Both print on Bella+Canvas 3001.

Do you sell fly fishing hats, rods, or gear?

Not yet. Apparel only for now. What we do publish is a set of free fly fishing tools and charts, including a leader calculator, a tippet matcher, and hatch charts.

How long does shipping take?

Every shirt is printed after you order. Production runs 1 to 2 business days before transit, so plan on roughly 3 to 7 business days from order to door. Free shipping over $55, United States only. Detail is on the Shipping & Returns page.
